Customizing Case CATalyst Toolbars

The toolbars in Case CATalyst are highly customizable.  You can move the toolbars, add or remove icons, move icons from one toolbar to another, and many other functions.  This article will go over the some of the basics of the CATalyst toolbars.

Moving Toolbars

Toolbars can be positioned for display in different locations in the Case CATalyst screen. You can rearrange them in the upper portion of the screen, display them along the side or bottom, or float them. To move a toolbar:

1. Position the mouse pointer on the left corner of the Toolbar until the arrow changes to a cross.
2. Click and hold the left mouse button.
3. Move the toolbar to the desired location on the side, bottom or top of the screen and release the mouse button. To have the toolbar float, release the cursor anywhere on the screen.

Adding or Removing an Icon from the Toolbar.

Each toolbar has icons specific to it's group.  For example, the Open Special toolbar has icons that will open the Personal Dictionary, Update Area, and Job and Case Dictionaries.  You can customize these toolbars so only the icons you want will display.  To add or remove an icon:

1. Position the mouse pointer to the right side of the toolbar you want to customize.
2. Left click on the icon that looks like a down arrow.  The Add/Remove Buttons menu displays.
3. Move the mouse over Add/Remove Buttons, then over the toolbar you wish to add/remove icons.
4. To add an icon to the toolbar, click the name of icon.  A check mark will appear to the left of the name.  To remove an icon, click the name of the icon and the check mark will be removed.

Resetting the Toolbar

Resetting a toolbar removes any custom configurations (images, icon position, text) and puts the toolbar back to its default appearance.  If you have not made a bunch of changes to your toolbar that you don't want to have to set back up, do the following:

1. Click the down arrow next to the toolbar
2. Move the mouse over Add or Remove Buttons, and then click the toolbar you want to reset
3. Click Reset Toolbar.
4. Click OK when prompted to confirm the reset.
